Its highly effective video-based instruction format enables students to experience case-based scenarios in a realistic setting. Instructors introduce a topic, and then show a video segment to present cases for discussion or to demonstrate a particular skill. Topics that are covered include burns, cuts, imbedded objects, bug bites, heat and cold related emergencies, seizures, asthma attacks, poisoning, splinting, etc. Handouts explaining first aid emergencies are given out at each class.
